Review: NameCheap.comWritten by: J_Mart on 21st May 2008I’ve used NameCheap many times and have had an account with them for approximately 4 years. During this time the site has had many new additions, all be it fairly slowly. Recently NameCheap added hosting services, and also became ICANN accredited. NameCheap provide a completely custom user interface. When you login you are presented with an overview showing basic statistics such as the number of domains you own, the number of domains expiring soon, etc. This page allows you to see an overview of everything in your account. From here there is a new navigation bar at the top, with links to different sections of the control panel such as managing domains. You can purchase “addons” and such via the links at the top, which are added to your account instantly. Because of the great, simple interface, many people use NameCheap as their primary registrar. Their market base hasn’t changed much in the last few years, however with their recent burst of updates, it looks like they are gearing up to go head to head with the best of the best. We’ll be returning for another review of NameCheap as new features are added to their website. |
