I often like to surf through the forums on Digital Point, and see what other webmasters are up to. If you have never used Digital Point, I highly recommend it as a great resource to connect with other webmasters and even find skilled labor for your projects. I was looking throughout the forum this morning when I came across a thread that had many posts debating whether age really matters when making money online. Legally the law says that you have to be 18 years old, so that you can sign binding contracts. But in all honesty, I am a big supporter of young entrepreneurs. In today’s society the number of young millionaires is constantly on the rise. Multi million dollar companies have proven that young entrepreneurs can make it big in this online world.

Google was originally created by two college students in the back of a van. Youtube originated from a group of college students in a garage. MillionDollarHomePage.com was created by an 18 year old so that he could pay for college. The list can go on and on. In my opinion, age is just a number. All that you need in order to start a business is a vision, dedication, and maturity to follow through, and grow your business.

To my surprise, there were a lot of people that made posts in the thread saying how they were against it and making fun of young entrepreneurs. America’s economy needs entrepreneurs, and if they start when they’re young, they will be such an amazing asset to our society when they get older and have even more experience. Whatever happened to the American dream? I remember growing up always hearing that I could whatever I wanted as long as I put my mind to it. No one ever said anything about age. Do you really want your kids to grow up and trade their hours for dollars, or do you want them to do something with their lives and live out their dreams? America’s kids are tomorrows leaders, and I believe that they are going to rock the world, and make an amazing impact in our society.

I can’t change the world alone, but I can inspire others to live out their potential. If you are reading this as a young entrepreneur, I want to inspire you to go on and put your dreams into action to make them a reality. Don’t let anything get in the way of your vision. Not age, not other webmasters, not anything. You can do anything that you put your mind to, and that’s the truth.

I know that this article was a bit more serious then they usually are, but this is a really important issue for me, and I always stand by my beliefs and will always back them up. I always want to encourage others and help them to grow and be better business men and women.

Building your websites Page rank can definitely be quite a task, and sometimes you might have some trouble finding good directories to submit to. Besides the fact that directory submissions could take hours if you do them yourself or it could cost you a bit of money if you hire someone to do them for you. Either way, directory submissions are not a fun task, however, they are essential if you want a higher Page Rank.

I have done directory submissions via both ways listed above. I mainly pay people to do them, because I have a lot of other work to do, and it’s much more efficient for me to hire people to do them.

So anyways, the purpose of this article is to show you another alternative that will definitely cut down both the amount of time and money that you spend on directory submissions. I have personally used a really helpful and reliable tool called digiXMAS. Basically, it’s a software program that you install on your computer once you create an account with them. You then log into your account via the program on your desktop, and fill out all the information about your website, such as: title, keywords, description, etc. After you have completely added your site into the software, you then have to go and order a submission package for your site, which will only cost you $15. After you’ve bought your package, it’s time to start the directory submissions. Just go into the program, hit start, and it will started sending your information to the directories on the list. Now don’t get me wrong here… This is not another one of those submission spammers. How it works is it fills in the information into the fields on the directories website, and then it sends you the CAPTCHA that you have to correctly fill in and hit enter for verification purposes.

It’s literally that simple. You can then go check your email, and see all the directories that sent you a confimation email regarding the submissions that you made. So, next time your spend hours doing directory submissions, just think about how you could sit at the computer with a nice glass of lemonade and relax while the software does all the work.

Coming up with a well thought out domain name can be quite a task. You want to make sure that it’s perfect for the content of your site. After all, this will be the location of your website. So what are the main ingredients in the perfect domain name? Below I have created a guide to help you choose the domain name that’s right for you.

First of all, I want to start out answering the question that I hear a lot of people asking. Can you get good rankings with .info TLD’s? And the answer is, of course you can. Just because you have a .info TLD, doesn’t automatically mean that you’re not going to have a good ranking for Google searches. No matter if you have a .com, .net, .org, .info, or a .cc, your site can still have great search engine rankings, and be really successful. Yes, .coms are more popular, but they are also more expensive.

The key to having a great domain name has nothing to do with the TLD really. To come up with an excellent domain name you need to remember two key things. The first thing is that you want it to have good keywords related to the content on your site. This helps boost your rankings in search engines like Google. For example, if you have an online arcade, then you’ll want your domain name to have keywords like “Online Arcade”, “Free Arcade”, “Flash Arcade”, etc. The second thing that you need to remember when creating a domain name is that you want it to be pronounceable and easily memorable. I was talking to a friend of mine about choosing a domain name for another site that we’re going to be getting up in about a week, and he reminded me of this good guideline to go by when trying to create a domain name.

The perfect domain name is one that you can tell someone over the phone, you don’t have to spell it out for them, and they remember it with ease.

For example of this, you can look at big sites like MySpace, FaceBook, YouTube, etc. These are really great domain names because they follow the guidelines stated above. I hope this will help you next the next time you go to register a domain name.

If you want to have success with your website, then you’ll want visitors to come back again. Let’s face it, there aren’t too many of you reading this that have a completely unique site, which means there are other sites that your visitors cold go to instead of yours. So, how do you make sure that people come back to your site instead of going to another site next time? The secret is to make your site unique. Although there are other sites out there that have similar content, you need to make your site different.

There are many things that you could do to make your website stand out from the others on the web. The following is a short list that I have come up with to help you get started:

1. Have contest for your visitors

2. Give away stuff (people love free stuff)

3. Make your website user friendly (making your website clean looking and easily accessible will help bring back business to your site)

4. Build a community

5. Start a forum on your existing website (ex. forums.yoursite.com

6. Offer discounts and special promotions for repeat customers

Not everything is going to work for your site, so you just have to try them out and see which ones work. You should also be creative and think of your own. Let this list be your starting grounds for making your site unique, and build on it. You never know if something is going to work or not until you try it.

If you’re having trouble getting a good ranking in Google for your search terms, then you may want to re-think the keywords you’re going for. Broader search terms are usually harder to rank high for, because their is usually so much competition for general terms. For instance, if you have an online arcade, it’s going to be pretty much impossible to get on page 1 of Google for the keywords “Free Online Arcade”, because of so much competition. If you want to get search engine traffic, then you’ll want to use more specific keywords.

Just try different terms, and experiment with it. Be creative. You never know if something is going to work until your try it. Ranking high for specific terms has always proven to be effective for me. It may not work for everyone, but the purpose of this blog is to help webmaster’s and for me to share my experience with you.

I have no idea why, but this morning I woke up at 5:00 and could not go back to sleep. While I was laying their, I got the whole idea for this article. So, I hope you like it, because I got up and wrote this at 5:00 this morning.

Do you want to rank higher and Google, but don’t really know exactly how to do it with a low budget? This one is simply and free. All you have to do is update your content.

Updating your websites content is one of the most keys keys to ranking higher in Google searches. Google’s spiders are constantly on the look-out for new, fresh content, and whenever you update your page, they’ll notice it and re-rank you for your search terms.

Now, updated content alone isn’t going to get you higher rankings. Consistency is just as important as new and fresh content. If you aren’t consistent with updating your websites content, then your rankings will drop back down. Getting higher rankings takes time, and won’t happen over night. You just have to be patient and keep working, because the hard work will definitely pay off down the road.

As the first article, I thought that it would be relevant to talk about finding the niche that’s right for you. Not everyone has the skill or the ability needed to run a blog. Not everyone can has the skill or ability to manage an online directory. No matter what it is that your trying to get into, you have to make sure that the niche fits your skill level. I, for instance, would never run a home and garden blog, because my knowledge is very minimal when it comes to home and garden.

When you’ve made the decision to start an online business, you have to ask yourself two things: “What am I good at?” and “What do I enjoy?”. As long as you find something that you are both good at and enjoy, you should be fine, and you should be successful with your online business.

Now, I know this is pretty basic, but this will definitely help out a lot of people when their trying to figure out what type of site would be good for them to run. I only wish that I had asked myself those questions when I started out in online businesses. I had to learn the hard way. I just basically jumped right in, and started making some websites. It took me about $300 in expenses (with no profit), before I realized that blogging was the niche for me.

Like I said before, everyone is different, and no one has the skill and knowledge to run every single kind of website efficiently. All you’ve got to do is have an interview with yourself, and find out what you’re good at and what you enjoy. I didn’t ever bother taking time to figure these things out before hand, and it got me $300 in the hole. Just save yourself the time and money, and do some research to find you niche.

I’ve used NameCheap many times and have had an account with them for approximately 4 years. During this time the site has had many new additions, all be it fairly slowly. Recently NameCheap added hosting services, and also became ICANN accredited.

NameCheap provide a completely custom user interface. When you login you are presented with an overview showing basic statistics such as the number of domains you own, the number of domains expiring soon, etc. This page allows you to see an overview of everything in your account. From here there is a new navigation bar at the top, with links to different sections of the control panel such as managing domains. You can purchase “addons” and such via the links at the top, which are added to your account instantly.

Because of the great, simple interface, many people use NameCheap as their primary registrar. Their market base hasn’t changed much in the last few years, however with their recent burst of updates, it looks like they are gearing up to go head to head with the best of the best.

We’ll be returning for another review of NameCheap as new features are added to their website.
